Blissful Mondays - 7

Last week was really great. I got so many things done. I have started drawing everyday. I am reading a lot more.  I finally finished lost (must write a post on that) I saw a few movies. Enjoyed the world cup thoroughly, even though my favorite team - Argentina lost in the quarterfinals. I will miss watching them play, especially Messi.

I spend a nice weekend with S. We enjoyed the matches together. We went to the University for tea one evening. Bluffed our way in, coz they weren't allowing anyone without an i-card to get in. Had really nice snacks there. Talked a lot. Good fun.

I made a yummy cheese cake. It turned out pretty well, for my first attempt. Will try it again soon. I also made yummy iced green tea, which I took to work. I also had a good time at work as I described in the post before.

All in all, it was a good simple and fulfilling week.

Leaving you with this cute picture from here.

Blissful Mondays - 6

What could be more blissful than S being back..... words cannot describe the joy ! And I made this during my training session today ! I've learnt how to utilize my time at work well :)

I use these double colored pencils, so I stick to the combo on the pencil. Next is blue-pink I guess !

Blissful Mondays - 5

Well, I was feeling so lazy to write this post but then I thought I just must write it. So here goes, why was the last week so blissful.

- It rained, it rained n it rained some more. Finally the summers are gone. The weather is beautiful. It rains a little almost everyday. Though it does get a bit damp and gloomy at times, it so much better in every way. I love to see the storm clouds approach, from my office window. It looks simply awesome. We aren't allowed to click pictures in office (damn IT policy). I wish I could really, the most lovely pics would result.

- Got some not so good news, but it has a silver lining to it. So I am very glad.

- My boss let me go home to see a match. Can you beat that ! I just casually mentioned to her how bad it felt to miss the match of a team I support and she was like," U wanna go watch a match, so just GO" I was overjoyed. Didn't take her seriously at first, but then I realized she was not kidding. So I ran home and Argentina scored 4 awesome goals !! I thoroughly enjoyed the match ! Messi was so awesome, even though he didn't score a goal, most of them happened because of him.

So thats it for this week. Hope this week turns out blissful as well !

I'll leave you with this cute image.

Blissful Mondays - 4

Well, once your back from Goa, things don't really seem blissful in comparison but I'm thankful for each day of the week gone by, coz it was the week before S left for Ranchi. We got to spend 6 whole days together.

So here goes:

- Another enjoyable family get together. To-be in-laws and parents get along well *touch wood* so it was a real fun night. Took so many pictures with S :)

- We danced together on some old Hindi song, I don't even remember which one it was. But we were ball-dancing and everyone was cheering :) Great fun !

- S sang my fav. song, which I proceeded to record on my phone so that I can listen to it anytime when he's gone. It's Maeri by Euphoria. He sings it just too beautifully. It just takes me to another world altogether. Ahhh !

- I made a cute picture book for him... and he simply loved it. It was th perfect send-away gift ! The bright side of him being far away is that I can make cards/write letters etc.

- It finally started raining here in the city and we all went for a nice after-dinner drive. Though we didn't find our destination, the drive was enjoyable. So we did experience the monsoon together. It was fun.

I'll stop here. The more I think about last week, the more I miss him and right now that won't do me any good. SO, I'll just stop and go to bed. *Sigh* two years is a long long time.

Blissful Mondays - 3

Someone rightly said, A fun, exciting weekend can make the Monday seem so boring and pointless. I have to nod in agreement, while trying hard to keep my eyes open and battling Sleep, which has almost gained control over my body. But I will still struggle to write this post. Why ? :) simply coz I have nothing better to do ! So here goes:

- Weddings :) I love weddings. Especially if I'm the guest. Just come see the beautiful bride n handsome groom. Look at the dressed up people. Poke fun. Eat and socialize and go home. Oh ya, I get to dress up too and wear bangles which I love. So, it was a close friends wedding. Close enough for me to bother to go all the way and not-so-close enough that I met her for a total of 40-45 mins in the entire two evening. It was fun because the wedding turned into a mini reunion, which is always the case when a school friends gets hitched. My friend looked so pretty and so unlike a madu. No OTT makeup or jewelery or clothes. The place was beautifully done. And well, the food was err...okay. Vegetarian to begin with and no alcohol :P but we had our own fun so things weren't that bad. A lovely weekend, well spent.

- Long drives + Loud music + Favorite songs + Close friends + Open Roads + Sealink + Marine Drive + Tipsy (all except the driver) + Rolls afterwards = Pure pure fun night !!!

- Meeting new people. I met people who I had never met before in person and it turned out to be so much fun ! I am inherently a shy person, don't talk much at first meetings. But strangely I was pretty comfortable with the idea of meeting these strangers who I got to know via twitter. It was a first-time for me and I loved it. Yay to new experiences.

- S has to go away to Ranchi. I am happy because now we will finally be able to go to Calcutta, something I have wanted to do ever since I met him. Things are falling into place and I love it.

- Shopping at Colaba Causeway. It is my happy place. I always find great things there. I bought an awesome belt, dresses (sadly one fits real bad), bangles and a tube. Almost bought a smart silver bag, but then decided against it coz I pictured all the bags back home.

- I met the cutest lil dog (actually he was real big) called whiskey. He is my school friend's Golden Retriever and he is totally adorable. Pics will be put up soon. I cud cuddle him all day long.

Ah, the week really was Blissful :) *counts her blessings*

Blissful Mondays -2

Okay, I know I'm a day late..but I'm here now. So let me begin.

- Last week was so much fun. Went clubbing after like hundreds of millions of years. I felt like I was from a different generation all together looking at all the under-age teens chugging down bottles of beer. It was fun. It made me smile and remember my college days. Met old friends after long. Hopped through pubs. Went to a shady place to eat at night. Made plans to drive down to Lonavla, but then remembered it was a working day next morning. It was great fun. I didn't even feel sleepy the next day (even though i slept only for like 4.5 hours).

- Saw Parikrama live. This too happened after ages. And they did not disappoint one bit. I was on cloud 9. They played my song too ("But it rained" --- u gotto listen to that track) I could feel the goosebumps on my back. The violinist mesmerized me. It was a real fun evening, worth the long drive to BVP through the chaotic traffucked roads.

- After listening to the show, I got home and gave things a good thought. I have decided to learn the violin. I think it is a beautiful instrument and makes the most melodious sounds. I am currently scouting for classes and then later for instruments. I've heard they cost a bomb, but then..I remember this advertisement on TV, some alcohol brand, about the violinist and then his girlfriend gifts him another one which sounds so much better. I was enthralled since then. Glad I have found a new interest. Blissful it is.

- Helped this young lad buy a shoe polish stand so that he could earn more money. He spoke English pretty well and I was quite surprised. We are trying to get him some more help so he can study and his mom can work. There will be a post about that soon. It felt really good.

So, Last week was indeed blissful, in more ways than one :) :) Happy weeks ahead !

Blissful Mondays -1

Finally Monday is here. I was only looking forward to this day to write this post. Silly me I guess. or not.

So this is my BLISS LIST for today:

- New shoes :) Yesterday we went shopping, Dad and I, and came back with 4 new pairs of shoes. 3 for him and 1 for me. I was so happy coz my dad hardly ever buys anything for himself, but yesterday I made him buy a pair of floaters, a formal pair of black shoes and casual sandals. A good shopping day.

- Family bonding. On Sunday, the families met, well not for the first time of course, but for the first time at S's place. The lunch was super tasty but that's not the best part. After lunch, we were all just chatting and my mom asked S to play us something on his guitar (which I gifted him btw... who doesn't like credit !!) and it turned into a full-on jamming session. My dad loves to sing, so does S's mom. So we sang old Hindi songs, S and I sang some new ones. It was awesome, just plain awesome. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed and we already planning the next time.

- Also went out a lot this week. S and I are getting our groove back. After the months of tension slowly wearing away, we decided to have some fun. We went to HRC last week. I drank after 3 whole months (nice cocktails) and listened to super music. Results - lots of pics and a happy ME.

I saved this lil note for the last. I think it will help me survive Mondays :)

So whats keeping you happy this Monday ?

Mondays !!

I know today isn't one. I am not hallucinating. nor am I craving more Mondays in the week. I just came across this lovely idea via Jessica's Treasuring blog - Blissful Monday. So Blissful Monday is a place to make your own rules, to talk about what makes you really truly happy. To reflect on the past week and what we've loved. Memories. Aha moments. Insights. Touching compliments.etc.

Considering Monday is the most unfavored day of my week,  I think this is a brilliant idea to brighten up my dreary Mondays. The rules are:
  • There is no room for complaining on Blissful Monday. If you need to vent about something, please take it elsewhere!
  • There is also no room for judging. It's just not helpful to anyone, right? Right.
  • Please keep it positive and fun.
So, I'm just waiting for Monday to come now so that I can write :) Yay to that !
