Kala Ghoda Arts Festival

So I finally was able to attend the KGAF this year ! So what if it was only one day, I went and that's all that matters !

I visited all the stalls, enjoyed the performances and Ooh-Aah-ed at all the displays ! And took some photos too. There were about a million photographers there with their DSLRs, but that didn't deter me. I boldly removed my cybershot and clicked away !

Marrakesh

I have always wanted to visit Morocco. The rich culture, history and cuisine is truly intriguing. Once again, I found myself dreaming, thanks to this article of the NYT, which I read through one of the blogs I follow.

Armchair traveling, that's what I'll do, atleast for a few more years, before I embark on my "round-the-world" trips.

Currently, 1 Morocco Dirham = just about 6 Rupees :) I like that !

I am now browsing the website of one of the very famous hotels in Marrakesh - La Mamounia. Built in 1923, it is a fine example of Moroccan tradition and grandeur. It underwent a three-year restoration process. Do visit the website to view some exquisite pictures and to get a list of unique materials used to make this beauty.

What lovely pictures, right ! There are so many more on the hotel's website, don't miss it ! This is one of the most expensive hotels in Morocco, so even if I cant stay here, I could always drop in for a tour or simply a meal !

Talking about meals, while I'm there, I wouldn't mind joining a cooking class (just 40 Euros) - Souk Cuisine and even the week long culinary event sounds like great fun !

Another stay option would surely be the Peacock Pavilions run by blogger - Maryam of My Marrakesh, affordable compared to La Mamounia (starts at 150 Euros) and sure to be loads of fun interacting with Maryam and her family. Read her blog, it is awesome !

Christmas Eve dinner

Mom and I went to our favorite restaurant in Pune - La Pizzeria. We simply LOVE their pizzas and pastas. Absolutely authentic stuff and simply delicious. The only thing that sucks is the ambiance coz the place is tiny and is full of kids - screaming, shouting, playing and running all over the place!

We tried the Tortellinis (FAB) and a thin crust pizza (superb) and ended it with an Italian Tiramisu (heaven) !!

I couldn't get a pic of the pasta coz I was so hungry and simply forgot !

Christmas Party

I attended a Christmas Party last week ! It was the first party I attended after eons. I can't remember the last party actually :P When I was invited, I did not jump with joy as I wasn't too sure about going. But soon I was excited and looking all over for the gift I was to take along (secret santa) !

And then, the D day arrived:

The party was super fun. My friend had made some lovely apple cider. There was all kinds of food and drinks. We played silly games and ended with a singing and dancing session. I met new people, many of whom looked so damn familiar, but I just couldn't place them.
There was a young girl (i say young coz she was 7 whole years younger to me) who had a magical voice. I was stunned by how talented she was. Just too good !
