Blissful Mondays - 4

Well, once your back from Goa, things don't really seem blissful in comparison but I'm thankful for each day of the week gone by, coz it was the week before S left for Ranchi. We got to spend 6 whole days together.

So here goes:

- Another enjoyable family get together. To-be in-laws and parents get along well *touch wood* so it was a real fun night. Took so many pictures with S :)

- We danced together on some old Hindi song, I don't even remember which one it was. But we were ball-dancing and everyone was cheering :) Great fun !

- S sang my fav. song, which I proceeded to record on my phone so that I can listen to it anytime when he's gone. It's Maeri by Euphoria. He sings it just too beautifully. It just takes me to another world altogether. Ahhh !

- I made a cute picture book for him... and he simply loved it. It was th perfect send-away gift ! The bright side of him being far away is that I can make cards/write letters etc.

- It finally started raining here in the city and we all went for a nice after-dinner drive. Though we didn't find our destination, the drive was enjoyable. So we did experience the monsoon together. It was fun.

I'll stop here. The more I think about last week, the more I miss him and right now that won't do me any good. SO, I'll just stop and go to bed. *Sigh* two years is a long long time.

This moment - 4

This moment is very special. S left for Ranchi day-before yesterday and it still hasn't totally sunk in that he will be gone for 2 whole years.
The week before he left, we celebrated his 25th birthday, both the families, it was FUN. I got this cake for him and I was boringly gonna write "All the Best" on it but then my mom suggested this. Celebrations Always. I had to coax the guy at the cake-shop to write this as he complained it was too big to get on the cake. He eventually agreed after telling me that he would take out the pieces of pineapple from the cake. I agreed.
I do pray S, that you can celebrate life always. Wish the best for you in the coming two years. You deserve it.

After I put the candles to the cake I realized that it signified so much. The 2-5 represent his age of course. The 2 individually represents the 2 years he will be away studying hard. 5 represents the years we both have known each other. And then I cracked a silly joke that the lone candle at the end signifies that we are ONE ! Don't hit me. It was a special moment and a very memorable one indeed !

I dig that ring. Totally love the gold clutch. Need a new pair of awesome-fitting jeans. Want a closet full of beautiful sandals. Have to shop for pretty earrings.

Green n Gold

Pink all the way !

Although I am not a great big fan of Pink, these are some of the things I really liked in the hue. Especially the pumps..I could eat them !

Dress up everyday !

This quote has inspired me now. I am under pressure to dress well and I don't think I'm gonna complain :)

This moment - 3

What can I say about this moment last week. This picture has just two elements but its become one of my very favorite pics. The blue is so blue and the coconut tree just stands out against it. I totally loved this shot that I took at Wagator, Goa.

I wanna go back NOW !!

Dressy

I am in love with this one shouldered dress by Lina Tipnis. It is so smart and looks so comfortable and breezy. I would love to wear it once I tone my arms and shoulders.

This moment - 3

I love traveling by train. It's the crowds that I like to avoid :) Train journeys are much more fun than flights and since I was a little child, I loved our long train journeys. Dad tells me that I wouldn't sit still and would keep climbing the berths or walking up and down the corridors.

This picture was taken last Sunday when I was in Bombay. Being a Sunday, there was absolutely no rush in the local. Anyways, Churchgate is where the train leaves from so there could really be no rush. It wasn't even so hot :) I kept clicking pics, while those around me thought I was a crazy lady. This train seemed new as it was very clean. It was a nice short journey to Dadar.

LDRs

This has been one of my favorite Vikram Seth poems till date.

All you who sleep tonight
Far from the ones you love,
No hand to left or right
And emptiness above -

Know that you aren't alone
The whole world shares your tears,
Some for two nights or one,
And some for all their years.

It says so much in just 8 lines. Beautiful.

I'm in a melancholic mood right now. S is going to be studying in a far away place for 2 years. I know its a good thing and thank god he is in the same country and all that, but 2 whole years. Wow. I'm gonna miss him terribly. More so, coz we've been in the same city for over a year now and before that he was in Bombay, which is just three hours away. It is gonna take a while to get used to him not being around, not having him to hold my hand and gimme a hug.... those fun evenings (good we did some already)...impromptu dinners...movies..drives. Ah, I will miss u these two years, S !

Then I look to the brighter side and think about all the fun we will have when I visit him. That we can finally make that trip to Calcutta. and maybe to the many places in and around there. The surprise visits :) The excitement. It will be fun. N most of all, its the time after these 2 years get over that I will look forward to most :)

Be safe, S. Work hard and party harder. Very few get to go back to college. Enjoy your time there and great times will follow :)
