Time to bid adieu

So, I have finally begun the journey to realize my dreams...I have joined design school.

And now I thought it was time to create this new blog altogether...so just a formal good bye to the very few who did read this one. Will surely post the link to the new one when it is created.

Thanks for the support.

See you on the other side !

Polka Dots

This is my new favorite restaurant.
If you haven't tried it, you simply MUST !

I have already been to it about 4 times this month :D and I have coerced my team to give me my farewell there too ! Yes I am absolutely crazy about this place.

So we went there yesterday and had the following:

"Veg quesadillas"
"Teriyaki Chicken"
"Chicken Paprika"

All of the above were made to perfection. I ordered the last dish and it did not disappoint. It was superb. I licked the plate clean ! Dammit, I'm hungry again :P

Located in Kalyani Nagar and Aundh it serves all kinds of food - Indian, Continental, South-east Asian, Mexican etc etc. Pretty reasonably prices and good portions. Even their desserts are to die for. We had this creme brulee, oh, I cannot begin to describe what it did to me.

A meal for four cost about 1200 bucks. And we ordered mocktails as well (they do not serve alcohol) The mojito is really good and so is the iced tea.

Again, you MUST go !

P.S. The place has just about 10 tables and is always packed. Also, it is not air-conditioned but they have these huge air coolers and its covered so well that you cannot make out the difference at all !

Top Ten Tuesday

So, I'm just sitting here doing nothing, and I happen to stumble across this blog - A White Picket Fence. The first post I read is this and I am very inspired (read bored with no great work) to do one of my own ! So here it is:

Top Ten Life Essentials (as in what would you bring to a deserted island):

1. My dear S, the fella, that is !
2. books, books and more books.
3. Some magazines, when I'm in the mood for light reading - Cosmo, Lonely planet, Vogue et al.
4. My camera, with a lot of extra batteries.
5. A sketch book, pastels and pencils.
6. A blanket (I always feel cold, no matter what)
7. Chocolate (But of course)
Strangely I cant think of anything else. Doesn't that go to say how little I really need :D *pats back*

I would have added laptop and phone but I suppose they wont work on an island so I didn't !

Look what I got

So my mom was cleaning out her stuff, and since she no longer wears jewelery regularly, she gave me all her silver jewelery.

I was jumping with joy and am now waiting for an occasion to wear it.

Take a look.

The bangle was given to me by my m-i-l to be ! It is a family heirloom I suppose :) really pretty.
The two earrings in the second photo (first row) I bought from Colaba. They are the only ones of the lot that aren't silver. The rest my mom got from Jaipur. I am totally in love with the ring. :)

The Book Tag

I stole this tag from Crimson Shadows. It seemed rather interesting, and I suppose I'll have fun doing it.

1. Favorite childhood book? I'm trying to remember the first book I read, I can see the illustrations but the name eludes me. So I'll go with Daddy Long-Legs by Jean Webster.
2. What are you reading right now? 1984 by George Orwell for my book club meet.
3. Bad book habit? Hoarding and hoarding and not reading.
4. Do you have an e-reader? Nope. And I don't think I will buy one anytime soon. I just love the feel of a book in my hands, to turn pages.
5. Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once? I have always wante to try reading more than one book at a time. Maybe I will someday.
6. Have your reading habits changed since starting a blog? Since the internet, YES ! I read far too less than I would like to.
7. Least favorite book you read this year (so far)? The year just started and I've finished just one book which I really liked. So I'll pass.
8. Favorite book you’ve read this year? None this year. Outliers from last.
9. How often do you read out of your comfort zone? Not too often. I tried non-fiction for the first time last year. Outliers. Loved it to bits.

11. Can you read on the bus? Bus. train. plane.
12. Favorite place to read? Anywhere with good lighting. and a gentle breeze.
13. What is your policy on book lending? I am not a fan of lending. I would wriggle my way out of it if I could.
14. Do you ever dog-ear books? No. I have my pretty bookmarks. And I usually remember the page number.
15. Do you ever write in the margins of your books? No. i like to keep my books clean and spotless. I only write my name on the first page, that too in pencil.
16. Not even with text books? Of course I write in text books. Doesn't everyone? But even that can't be scribbles. All neat and tidy notes. Straight lines for underlining.
17. What is your favorite language to read in? English. I haven't really tried any other language. I would love to be able to read French. and Urdu. and Bengali.
18. What makes you love a book? Characters, specially if I can relate to them, or they have something common with me. Same goes for the story.

24. Most inspirational book you’ve read this year (fiction or non-fiction)? I haven't finished it yet, but I'm sure it will fall under this category - The Suitable Boy.
25. Favorite reading snack? I couldn't get my hands greasy. It would ruin my book.
26. Name a case in which hype ruined your reading experience. Hmmm. Eat Pray Love.
27. How often do you agree with critics about a book? I hardly read book reviews.
28. How do you feel about giving bad/negative reviews? If the book is bad, its bad. Positive criticism is really helpful.

49. A book that you expected to like but didn’t? The Middleman. Didn't like it too much.

New Paintings

Last week I ended up not painting at all. So today when I woke up I was all charged up and ended up making a painting in just one hour. Now I'm about to start on another one and quite pleased with myself.

These are some of the paintings I made in the last few weeks.

And this is what I did today:

Glee :) :) :)
