The movies I saw months ago (but never wrote about)

Slumdog millionaire - I really don't know whats the hype all about.. I found the movie just averagely okay.. the soundtrack was awesome, but the movie - OK. Could be because I'd read the book before. But really!! Frieda Pinto was non-existent, yet she's all over the media (rolling my eyes) Dev Patel was blah. The actual credit goes only to those kids. They totally stole the show. Brilliant performances by lil Jamal, who was also incredibly cute.

Ru-ba-ru - Copy of If Only, one of my fav. movies, decent make, nothing that great. Saw it only because I really like Shahana. I still have to solve the mystery of whether she was the one sitting next to me in that bus journey.

Little Zizou - Cute, funny, n crazy!! The Parsis are truly unique in their ways :) The humor was so crazy. I especially loved the little angry girl. The looks she gives Xerxes whenever he's around are just too much. Xerxes himself is rather cute. His elder brother (Imaad Shah, Nasseruddin Shah's son) also acts well in this one. John hardly has a role. The battle between the two families is hilarious.

Firaaq - Another riot movie, but well made. I have always liked movies in which different stories are woven together. This one was also directed that way. Nice movie, though I wish it had more matter and substance.

Eagle Eye - A typical American spy FBI thriller, decent, one time watch, if bored.

Body of Lies - Nice! Leo is always good, he should really get an Oscar soon!! HE does the cop role really well. Even Russell Crowe does his bit. A good watch.

Revolutionary Road - Kinda slow, n a bit boring! I liked the storyline though. I wish the whole concept had been portrayed a little better. Two great actors seemed to have gone waste. The movie leaves you with a feeling of unease, you don't really know if its over or there is something more to come.

Gulaal - Hmm... mixed feelings.. dint like it too much, but good acting. Too much of violence! The soundtrack of this movie is mind blowing. Totally different kind of music. Mostly adaptations of old songs, but beautiful lyrics. Piyush Mishra has woven magic into the songs.

The Reader - Bold scenes!! really bold scenes!! Ok movie, gud acting!! But I dint find Kate's performance worth the Oscar !

Bee Movie - Cute! Animations always make me smile.

Nim's Island - OK, kiddish.. but OK !

The incurable..

Anne Hathaway is so cute. She reminds of Julia Roberts a lot.Maybe its her huge smile, or her eyes... Can't put my finger on it.

This movie was slow to begin with. I had a feeling its about ghosts or something. Then I realized its not, so I thought its about some psycho plane crash survivors. Then again, after a few minutes I thought that its about some conspiracy etc.

It really turned around in the end. I had just not expected something of that sort. So I really enjoyed the movie after all. I saw it in two shifts. But, good turn of events. Nice direction.

Again, Anne Hathaway.. great gal !!

The Butterfly Effect 2 and after-effects...

So now I have seen the trilogy... hope they aren't any more to come coz they are just getting worse with each script.
The movie was so-so. No great shakes. I hadn't expected much. What can you expect on a day off from work... just some entertainment of any kind.. and it met that criteria.

It also made me think.. the "S" kind of thinking.. deep and profound.. which I seldom have time (or the inclination) to do.
Ya.. coming back to what I was thinking.. No matter what you try changing in the past, you can never predict how F***ed up life is gonna be in the future. So wanting to alter history is pointless. Just start today. Do what you can today to ensure a better brighter simpler future. As easy as that.

That's it, I guess. Enough for one time :)

(I saw) SAW III

A while ago I saw this movie.. SAW III ... god..what a movie... really..there are just no words to express the gore, grossness, sick feeling you get while watching the movie. I have my doubts about the person who could write such a script and even the director..what were they thinking???!!! thank god the Indian censor board did not allow such a terrorizing movie to be released on big screen...what would it have done to the minds of people..specially the wrong kinds..
And I believe there are 6 parts to the movie already.. and more to come. WHY????
The concept of the movie could be appreciated by an extremely liberal mind..I did find the underlying concept interesting but what a terrible way to depict that!!
If seen by a psycho, it could be badly misunderstood.. and eventually be rather dangerous to society..!!
All said, it must only be seen by those with a strong stomach and a strong head!!!

A brilliant inspiring story...

I read this beautiful picture story... its so true.. and so nice... i wish i could tell the author how much i liked it ..but cant find a way to do it... but a very honest and true story... must read!!
