20 Stories

This is the second bok I've read this weekend. I'm so glad I'm back to reading. Such a welcome change from surfing the net all day long. Sometimes I myself wonder how i do it, day after day.

Its a short story book written by the famous Satyajit Ray, and translated by someone called Gopa Majumdar. It has 20 stories, which can be surely guessed from the title itself.

The stories are different, very different from the one I read the day before. Those were true incidents which I could relate to. These are purely fiction, most being ghost stories. Some were quite amusing. I can imagine Mr. Ray writing these in those days. All stories are based in and around Calcutta, quite obviously.

I did not like the book as much as I did the previous one but it was nice in its own way. Some were strange and unbelievable. Some, which spoke of how the human mind works, were really nice.

I wouldn't say its a must read, but its a different experience in itself to read something written by Mr. Ray, who after all was very gifted and versatile.
