Another movie, another book

Today, actually yesterday & today, I saw Crossing Over. Nice movie. A bit like the 'Oscar-winning' Crash, but not very similar.

This was about immigration and all things attached. Its quite bad, the situation in the US. I can't begin to imagine the number of illegal immigrants there! From all over the world, people just want to be US Citizens, and they give up almost everything for that. Gosh! and something for a country which doesn't even want you there in the first place.

I must find out more about this and all the laws & of course the loopholes !! The whole 'green card' bit, naturalization etc etc. I don't really have any clue how it works. It see
ms pretty interesting.

The movie was pretty sad. It had families being torn apart. People dying. People getting used just to get an American citizenship! But a nice movie overall. Harrison Ford acts well, and I also liked the girl who played the part of the Bangla Muslim teenager.

And BTW, I started (and almost finished) The White Tiger, as promised! Its a nice book, keeps you quite enthralled. Its narrated by this small town guy from a village near Dhanbad in Bihar. Very well expressed!! Funny too. Lets see how it ends. Will update once its over.

Yay!!! My reading days are back again, and back to stay!!
Next in line is Rohinton Mistry's book, which I bought like 7 months back and read only few chapters.

Update: Finally finished the last bit of the book while sitting in office ;) great book I must say, very different, especially the language used.
