34 Bubblegums and candies

Just spent the afternoon reading this book by Preeti Shenoy ..

It was a refreshing change.. Her writing is so simple, yet it connects to you somewhere. Anyone can relate to the simple stories in the book. They deal with life, love, children, death, humor.. just about anything you may come across in your everyday life.

It took me about 3 hours to finish the 150 page book, as I put it down just once to eat lunch. I was completely hooked till the last page. I especially liked the part where she describes the period around her father's death. Its really moving. Also, the story in which her son talks to her about death. I really had a lump in my throat at the end of it.

Brilliant young lady, with such simple, yet interesting things to share.

It was an afternoon well spent & I am back to reading after a gap of nearly a year.
Just this evening, S bought me a short-stories book by Satyajit Ray. Lets see how this one goes.
