This year was my 5th Durga pujo ! I can't really believe it .. 5 years is a long long time ! But then again, I feel as if its passed in a jiffy !
I had decided this year, S being in town, that I would visit as many pandals as I could. God knows if we would be in here next year !
So I went all round town, visiting the pujos, grabbing the best eats, clicking pics ! Oh it was damn gud fun ! Tiring, but awesome ! I had really good kosha chicken (since am not a mutton eater) and yummy maccher kalia and of course rolls and fish fry etc etc. I couldn't get gudd sandesh this time, but no worries I had my fill with all the other stuff !
I also had a gala time looking at all the over-decked people ! god, some of them had walked straight out of their wedding ! And then they were the others, who had lost their way and just wandered into the pujo instead of a disc/pub. I mean, HELLO !!! you have come to a pujo, show some respect dammit, cover up ! Don't just prance about half naked ! I just don't understand the need to flaunt your party clothes in such a place ! its just plain stupid !
Over all, I had a blast ! It was one of the best pujos till date ! Though, it felt a bit strange not to see many familiar faces. I would actually jump with joy if I spotted someone even remotely familiar, someone I didn't even really like, just coz I knew them ! I know it sounds crazy, but pujo has always been about that ! Meeting people, exchanging pleasantries etc. Not knowing anyone seemed awkward !

Kaali Badi (The pujo I call my own ! It has been and will remain, my first pujo destination)
Aundh/Baner Pujo (Govind Gardens)
Viman Nagar ( I had the first bhog here this year, but it didn't really match up to the Kaali Badi bhog !)
Congress Bhavan (Last year they had the best decoration ! Overall this pandal is the best ! the best food caterers come here ! and the decor is always great ! they also have nice performances)
Koregaon Park (Rohi Villa, it has the grandest decor always ! Two years back, when they hosted their first pujo, it had such an amazing idol ! Just Awesome ! )
Fatima Nagar/Wanowrie (This was my first time here. Quite nice, fish fry was really gud at the bong connection stall)
AFMC (Lastly, this was ok. There were no Bengali food stalls surprisingly. We found vada pav, chinese, dosa but no bengali fan fare. Wonder why !!)
All in all, a pujo well spent ! Already waiting eagerly for next year ! :)
