This is the second book in the trilogy written by Deborah Ellis. I had picked up the first one about a year ago. I had meant to read all three but somehow lost track. Then I got these Crossword gift vouchers and I picked up the other two.
So this book is the continuation of the little girl's story. How she wanders alone trying to find her mother and sisters. She comes across strange people and has adventures, some pleasant, other not so.
It's a very light read. Just about a hundred pages. I just want to get to the last book to see how this all ends. It has glimpses of A Thousand Splendid Suns, both being set in Afghanistan !
The author writes very simply and you just breeze through without effort. The story is pretty interesting in a simple way.
I will start the last one soon.
