I think Martin Scorsese is slowly turning into one of my fav. directors. I loved 'The Departed'...I really liked 'Aviator'.... and Shutter Island was no different. I am yet to see 'Gangs of New York' but I've heard it is brilliant. So, I wanted to watch Shutter Island, ever since I saw the trailer on YouTube. It had Leonardo Dicaprio, who I think is a fab actor. If you have seen the above-mentioned movies and Blood Diamond, Catch Me If You Can etc. you know what I'm talking about. I don't care too much for his romanticized roles...but when he plays a cop/criminal he fits right in. Even here, he plays a federal marshal investigating the disappearance of a mental patient. The movie is quite gripping, though some idiot had already ruined it for me by spilling out the ending. But, I still watched, all engrossed.
The movie is worth watching. The story grips you and keeps you wondering, though you might guess whats up, you will always be in doubt. Its a good watch and I like movies like this, which make you rack your brain for all the possible endings. Well done Scorsese, and sure do keep them coming.
