My granddad applied for a Nano last year. He was then among the first few to be allotted one. A few days back it finally arrived. This is his first car. I was so thrilled for him.Today being the first weekend after the car came home, Dad & I went to see it. The colour is called "Racing Red." Very obviously, it is bright red in colour. I can just imagine my granddad going for a spin in it.
I took it for a round to get used to it. It was pretty decent, just that the seat was high coz I'm used to my 800. Then we all piled in (and it took the weight of 5 people!!) and went to celebrate. Though it look tiny from a few feet away, its quite spacious ! It was a combined celebration for the car, children's day (me) and diabetic's day (dad n bua have diabetes) !! We went to Great Punjab in KP.
Everyone was staring at us while we were driving to the place. The valet was extremely happy to see us. He was all smiles, maybe the first time he would have parked a nano. The waiters and other people at the restaurant also came out to see it ! It was rather funny. Many even asked us about it, the mileage, cost etc.
The food was good, as expected. And then we headed home. A decent car I'd say. I must be the first among people I know to drive a Nano. I was pretty thrilled. It was a new, good experience. I quite like the car. Maybe I'll ask if I can borrow it :)
Things about the Nano I learnt today:
1) The fuel tank is in the front.
2) The engine is at the back.
3) Its spacious even though it doesn't look so.
4) The seat is high and can't be brought down.
5) Its quite smooth and steady.
6) It basic model costs about 1.5 lacs after everything.
7) Its cute and seems like a toy car.
