2 States

The first book I finished this year ! yay ! I hope I can atleast do 1 book a month, so 12 books in total and if lucky, I can do more ! I wanna do more.. they r just too many books I wanna read.

Anyways, so ya, 2 States. Whatever I may have heard and read about it, I liked the book. I bought it when I was at the airport, going to HK. Thought I would read it on the ferry to Macau. But alas, the book never made it out of my bag. I was too busy doing other things. So it came all the way back and I finally started reading while I was waiting at CCD for someone. I must have read just about 50 pages and I was already laughing. It has some really hilarious narratives which I could totally relate to. I dint wanna put it down then, but had to as the person arrived and I couldn't be rude *bats eyelashes* !

Ya so coming back to it. I lost track once again as I joined work and was too tired when I got back home (or too sleepy). So when we went to stay at the mess for a few days coz of some unforeseen circumstances, I took the lil red book along. And thats where I actually read and finished it. I think it was all thanks to the lack of internet. If I had net access, I would have been twittering or FBing the whole time. I must make a serious attempt to detox :P.

Ya, ya, coming back, the book is about 2 people who fall in love in college (I really liked the whole college part) and decided to get married, the only hitch being that they r from two different states (that was totally unobvious rite?!!) So the parents on either side are totally not kicked about their idea of getting married. And the guy sets out to make the gal's folks like him, which he succeeds. And the same process follows for the other side. And alls well that ends well.

Once again, I liked the book. Maybe its coz I have some kinda affection towards Mr. Bhagat, ever since his FPS days. Or maybe coz I like simple stories. Or maybe coz I like indian fiction so much. Or maybe.... watever. I liked it. Its not some extraordinary, fancy-shmancy, intellectual types...but I could connect to it and thats enough for me. The way the in-laws don't like each other and the Punjabi-Southi stuff..I would know coz I'm half of both..was so real !

I'd give it 3 on 5. A good light bedtime read. Thanks Chetan !

P.S. I figure if they could add more to it here and there, it would make a gud Bolly flick ! And please, no controversies this time !!!!
